In 1994, Meghan Lahti was a young mother with three small children when Bert Flynn Park came under threat. She didn’t start a petition — she ran for office. By 1996 she was on Port Moody City Council, and she has never stopped fighting for the community she loves.
Over the next three decades, Meghan served on council through periods of growth, controversy, and change. She chairs, leads, and delivers. Finance Committee Chair for 15 years. Metro Vancouver Director for 16 years. She doesn’t just show up to meetings — she runs them.
In October 2022, Port Moody elected its first female mayor — Meghan, with 55% of the vote. She brings nearly 20 years of professional experience in post-secondary education: educator, College Director, and Provincial Director responsible for hundreds of employees and multimillion-dollar budgets.
